While being a big fan of wharncliffe and flat grinded blades I was both intrigued and a bit skeptical about Tsarap. I was wondering about ease of opening, handling and applicability for variety of tasks, how justified hump on the blade will be, and other things. Knife exceeded my expectations in every area. Built like a tank, yet very balanced. May be on a heavier side, but it's more as a benefit for me. One hand opening is super smooth and easy in two styles I personally used to, while having zero blade play. Model I’ve got has orange textured handle which is my personal preference and recommendation if intended for outdoor use. What is hard to see on photos but needs to be highlighted is that you can attach lineyard. While blade shape may look a bit bulky visually it easily covers anything from fine carving to relatively heavy duty tasks when extra thumb pressure is due. I will not hesitate taking it as a solid companion to a fix knife on hiking/camping/hunting/etc trips.
Combination of materials, build quality, usability and price will be hard to match. One of my new favorites. Thank you!!
