The type of pattern-welded steel is the called “Damascus steel”. Originally used in middle eastern sword making, the method has been lost since about the 16th century. But in 1973 bladesmith William F. Moran unveiled his “Damascus knives” at the Knifemakers’ Guild Show. Ever since then modern pattern-welded steel blades have been called “Damascus knives”... Well made, fast service
Knife looks much better in person. Quality and solid construction. Super fast shipping. Thank you.
Amazing work of Russian knife makers!!
Awesome! The knife is a beast. Out of the box razor sharp, perfectly lined up. Outstansing Craftsmanship, definitely going to be ordering its little brother next.
I am an avid knife collector. Everything from Emerson, ZT, Sog, Benchmade and Spyderco. I met the Russian Knives company at Blade Show 2019 and of all the knives I saw... 1000s to be exact. I bought one of theirs. The Patriot. I have always wanted to own more of their knives and finally decided to place an order for the Pike.
I love it. The Pike is the perfect blend of low profile and "Stab a Tank" ruggedness. It's elegant enough for EDC but tactical enough to take into combat. The deployment is silky smooth and G10 handle is on par with some of the best I've felt. (Remember the pedigree of knives I own.) I would put Mr Blade knives up there with some of the best.
Hopefully Russianknives will be getting more Mr.Blade knives so I can order more.
If you want the premium knife features
Recently I ordered the NKVD knife. It arrived fast and the quality exceeded my expectations. A great product I would certainly order from this company again.
I love the box it comes in, as well as the certificate of authenticity. Very sharp and comes with a nice sheath.
I prepared a spatchcock chicken , cutting thru the backbone with ease and carve the roasted bird afterwards . A capable cutter and slicer , the beefy blade also worked well in the yard hacking small limbs ,etc. A new favorite work knife !
I was pleased with the final product. The knife is well balanced and steel is tough. Blade feels good with the micarta grip handles. Love it!
I liked this knife from the moment I saw it but I was a bit hesitant about its small handle. The handle is great for my medium sized hand and the blade geometry is perfect for such a small knife. Over all I like Tsarap and recommend it to anybody. Also, its great for EDC.
If I was ever in a survival situation... I would hope this knife was with me. Named very aptly, it ticks all the boxes for what a survival knife should possess. Can't recommend it enough.
A man's knife very comfortable in the hand, the liners are massive no hot spots anywhere. This is more of a beast then my ZT 200 . I have 3 Mr.blades knives, you can't go wrong with them give these guys a chance.
Great knife, great Steel, great fit and finish.
DED Tanagi w/green-black micarta, leather sheath
I purchased this knife to serve as a slightly larger option to my DED Tactic D for hiking/camping/general use. The Tanagi is as finely executed overall as the Tactic D, but with standard green-black Micarta scales instead of the deluxe “brain”-type Micarta on the D. But interestingly, the blade finish on the Tanagi has a very smooth and elegant stonewash finish compared to the normal polished look (with grind lines visible) on the D. Further, the edge bevel on the Tanagi has a mirror finish in perfect contrast to the silky look of the rest of the blade. The Tanagi weighs 6.6 oz. (knife only, compared to the 4.9 oz. for the D), is balanced just behind the mosaic pin, and gives the user a real feeling of confidence (and satisfaction). Despite the absence of a finger guard, the grip is excellent and secure with the sculpting on the scales and perfect jimping above and below the front of the scales. The blade has a bit of an exotic stance to it, unique from the drop points I’ve owned or seen. Cuts/slices like a dream and enough heft for light chopping or light batoning.
Love the entire package, including the high quality leather sheath with metal clip for belt attachment.
Fast shipping and helpful advice from Vlad at Russian Knives. Batting 1000 with my 3 purchases from Russian Knives - all keepers!
I must say when I first opened the box it was a very nice presentation. The Birch Bark handle has a very good feel with high polished blade (blade sharpness it will cut phone book paper out of the box) with a well made leather sheath. Awesome old world craftsmanship with fit and finish you would expect. Great Customer service.
The trc south pole is the best knife i have ever owned even the kydex sheath is amazing. It has not left me since i have received it. And Russian Knives kept in contect wit me the whole time. I will definitely be buying from them again
The Mille Cuori is my 5th TRC knife I have purchased, such a beautiful extremely well built knife. I have to say TRC is highly committed to producing flawless and user friendly works of art. I have been committed to purchasing USA made knives only for years but have had some friends speak so highly of TRC that I was forced to check them out myself and glad I did. I highly recommend you do the same.
I was very excited when my South Pole arrive. This knife is very well made with superb materials. Balance of the knife in hand is simply perfect. Whether for camping or hunting or just hiking the South Pole is all the knife you need. TRC has done it right with the South Pole. Russian knives was prompt at getting my knife to me at a very good price. This knife won’t let you down.
This is my first fixed blade, and I love it! I have got by with pocket knives and multi tools so far, but I wanted something with a little more heft while still being small and light enough to hike and camp with. It’s a thing of beauty! So well made and the finish is just exceptional. Pure quality. The leather sheath is perfect also. Can’t wait to put this thing through its paces in the wilderness soon!
Vlad was super friendly and patient with me while I decided on which knife would suit my needs best, and when I finally decided it was shipped out within the hour - can’t recommend these guys enough. Also, I think I got the last Classic Freedom in their current stock, so if/when you see it available on their site again don’t hesitate, you will not regret it! Thank you!
This blade is balanced and hardworking around the yard , shop , and performs well in the kitchen . After carving on a project for 2 hrs. the knife was still fairly sharp. Great little knife!
First of all I want to compliment and thank Russian Knives for the fast delivery of a beautiful knife. I think I had it inside of four days. It's well crafted, sharp from the box and comes with a great scabbard. It's also delivered in a nice leather, zippered pouch. The satin finish and engraving are a really nice look for this knife as well. Thanks again gents.
These little knives are simply perfect! Dimensions, balance, ergonomics -- it all just works.
The knife itself is gorgeous!, the handle is comfortable and soft, the blade is sharp and has some serious heft as well, the saw back is sharp as well and can actually be used in a practical way. Overall it’s a beautiful knife that could be used for some serious work, or put in a display case to be admired.
I am amazed at the craftsmanship, the edge and spine saw of the Knife. The handle grip has a amazing feel for holding onto, it does a great job at absorbing the shock hits from chopping down tree limbs and branches, the blade holds and has a fantastic edge, the coding on the knife gives it a stealth and sharp look to the knife, plus I have to say the the sheath that comes with the Mr. Polite is amazing. Extremely though nylon material, molle web compatible, can even strap the sheath to your leg if not molle web it, comes with a storage pocket on the sheath too. Russian knives, you guys truly know how to make true quality and craftsmanship to your knives. Definitely worth the money and the investment.
Sculpted and special red micarta, matching liners and very nice ergonomics on top of M390 steel make this knife top notch in every way. Add a tapered tang for balance right on the forefinger, a perfectly ground 3/16” thick drop point blade (sharp as hell) and you have a unique and ideal tool for EDC, hiking, light camping and fondling! Could even be deep pocket carried if necessary. Exquisite fit, finish, with a high quality, perfect fitting leather sheath that makes this package complete. Proud to own and use this true beauty. Ordered Friday; received Monday - couldn’t ask for better.
The Classic Freedom is light to carry and nimble in hand, a perfect companion for hiking. Extremely good fit and finish In all aspects. The handle, while slim, is comfy and in perfect proportion to its 3.75” blade length and .102” blade stock. The sheath is high quality, low profile and a perfect fit - not going to fall out, but not hard to remove. Shipping was almost immediate; ordered Friday morning and arrived in central NY Monday. Vlad was responsive to my questions and a pleasure to work with (so much so that I purchased another piece from him within a week!) Great first experience overall with Russian Knives.
Such a smooth action. Solid lock up & high quality blade steel. What more could I ask for?
I tested this knife out this weekend camping with my Son-in-law and it is the best bushcraft knife I own!!
The service was fast, personal and very professional! Both knife and Russian Knives are highly recommended!
Before I talk about the knife, I must say this company is refreshing from the time I placed my order I was kept informed. As in order confirmed email--Thank You for my purchase email--item has shipped with tracking number email--your order was delivered email--Thank you for your purchase and invoice in the box which was well packed. I was never asking or wanting any information Awesome customer service. I'm very pleased with MR.Blade Convair great fit and finish, smooth deployment from the thumb stud and flipper tab, and very sharp right out of the box. Quality Knife made in the Czech Republic not China. I will buy again and refer to my knife friends.
The RK site description is exactly correct, this is a great slicer with just the right amount of strength but not overbuilt. The tip tapers to a very useful fine point. Excellent for most purposes except rougher work, where the DED Helper I already had is better (an ideal pair). Both are very well designed and made. Extraction is a bit effortful because the sheaths lack a thumb flange, but I love these knives.
It really is a good knife, just what I expected
Fantastic blade geometry, ergonomics, steel, and heat treatment! Elmax is a perfect hard use stainless steel! The only downside is the handles should have torx head screws, that would make the knife perfection!
Like apocalypse, super well made and smartly designed. Best of class kydex sheath. Not sure about elmax performance yet, haven’t used it enough
This is a huge slab of high quality, razor sharp, saber ground, Elmax steel that is custom crafted into a knife that's just as beautiful as it is functional.
