The type of pattern-welded steel is the called “Damascus steel”. Originally used in middle eastern sword making, the method has been lost since about the 16th century. But in 1973 bladesmith William F. Moran unveiled his “Damascus knives” at the Knifemakers’ Guild Show. Ever since then modern pattern-welded steel blades have been called “Damascus knives”... Feels serious. Plus it looks great love the knife
What I love about TRC knives is there no bull crap approach to simplicity. Sometimes less is more. You won't find any frilly bits on this knife. Fit and finish is just what you would expect from TRC knives. One of the best all around use knife from bushcrafting to Wilderness survival, to hunting. I believe this knife can do it all.
... beautiful knife. well made. not a toy.
great city knife and EDC!
Love the knife but the sheath needs some work - honestly just going to kydex the twins (bought 2) and call it. Always favored a thick blade due to bending hard use and this one has held up so far. In one word describe as balanced and excellent thrower just feels very smooth fluid on release for knife this size. Handles lighter than it is and just feels "right"
Fit and finish is what to expect from TRC, perfection. Very lightweight and perfectly balanced, try not use this as a fidget spinner because it is razor sharp, but temped to try. Regret not getting this blade sooner
As all the DED knives I’ve purchased, this is beautifully crafted. The grind is excellent and it fits the hand well.
Amazing products and service!
One of the most gorgeous knife I have the privilege to own. The damas pattern is beautiful, and the attention to details on the handle is incredible. A big, delicate yet strong knife, with a genuine custom, handmade feeling. I absolutely love it!
Great knife, perfect ergonomics, holds an edge really well, robust and well made.
As with any other TRC knife the fit and finish of this knife are just perfect. The M390 steel with the HRC 60-61 is superb!
Here is a nice review of this knife done a couple of days ago by the DBK: https://youtu.be/Q34weJkis5E
This is possibly the best finished knife in a collection of hunting knives. I have been totally thrilled with the level of craftstionship that goes into these Russian knives. This is the second knife I have bought from Rosarms and both are a step or two above the quality i get from any other maker here in the states. The fit and finish of the two I have is literaly perfect-- high praise but I've owned a number of hunters in the $230 to $350 dollar range that do not match this knife for quality -- I will be back for more ----- John H
The knife overall is great. Handles feel nice in hand. The edge out of box was a little on the less sharp side. Still could cut if I needed it to. Easy enough to sharpen. And distributor was great!
Retention is terrific. It's a nice 440c blade. It's not overly sharp out of the box but it's serviceable. The Ulticlip is awesome but it is not super versatile. Overall not a bad deal.
As we enter the holiday season, your list might include the gift of a knife to a friend or loved one, especially one that you already know is interested in knives.
Of course, you need to remember certain things when getting your gift, including local laws around knife ownership and what knife best fits the needs of your recipient.
