This is my first experience with a Russian-made knife and I could not be happier with the results.
This is a beautiful folding knife with a very smooth ball bearing pivot point and a super strong Wharncliffe blade. The D2 steel blade is very thick while the blade shape is functional, attractive and strong. The stonewash finish on the blade is excellent and practical since it will not easily show usage. The flat grind contributes to the strength of the blade and the knife arrived with one of the sharpest edges that I have ever received on a folding knife. Usually, I touch up the blade when I first receive a new knife so it is as sharp as I can possibly make it but it was not necessary with this folder. It could not be any sharper.
I chose the tan color G10 handle material and I could not be more pleased with the shape and finish of the handle material. The handle appearance looks good and it feels even better in my hand with a nice solid, non-slippery grip.
The liner lock is very positive and secure when the blade is open yet it easily unlocks when folding the blade for storage.
The pocket clip has a strong spring but it is still easy to clip in the pocket of my jeans and the design permits a deep storage in the pocket.
I have a strong bias for Wharncliffe style blades but I have already replaced my Zero Tolerance every day carry knife with this new Tsarap folder.
Based on my initial experience with this Russian knife I will be looking at other models in the future. I am very positively impressed.
